I was hired to redesign the iOS app to give it a modern feel and help improve its interaction. This was originally designed as a fitness social media app for sharing fitness progress but the version 2.0 required extra features.

I had to design a new feature that allow user to scan barcodes to detect sugar content in any food label.

CHALLENGES

This was challenging because I was redesigning an existing app which had thousands of users and didn't want to change the existing user flow too much.
Adding the scanning feature was also challenging because it was a new completely different flow using a 3rd party software. So I had to make sure it is well integrated and the experience is seamless.

I kept the existing colour scheme of the app to match the branding. I also tweaked some of the colours to have a modern feel.
