The Problem
Users with multiple bank accounts are often frustrated with having to manage multiple bank apps from different providers. Average users have around 3 bank account from different providers excluding credit cards. With each bank interface and login process, navigating through various platforms to keep an eye of finances becomes time-consuming and cumbersome.
Hypothesis
- • We believe: by providing users with an all-in-one banking app that integrates their credit cards and bank accounts through OpenBanking, we anticipate a significant improvement in user engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction.
- • We believe: by providing one source of truth it will be easier for users to manage their finances and also budget towards paying their credit cards and loans on time.
Research and Interviews
Working closely with the customer service team and also speaking to customers, we established some of the reasons users are frustrated with how fragmented the process is:
- • They have to download and manage multiple apps to view balances across multiple banks and credit cards.
- • They have to manually reconcile their expenses and income from different accounts.
- • There's no unified way to alert them about upcoming overdraft fees or loan repayments.
Comparable solutions
While looking at comparable solutions, we were able to identify some patterns and designs companies crypto wallets use in showing balances from different exchanges and platforms.
Potential Solution
After some research and seeing what other comparable solutions are out there, we came up with a few goals to guide us.
I made a plan to design an app that would be easy to use for everyone. The focus was on making it simple, accessible, and safe.
Wireframe
I mapped out how the app would work and then created a wireframe.
Usability Tests
The objective of the test is to ensure the user understands how the app works and if it was intuitive and solves their problem. We also benchmarked this against the average time it took users to switch between apps.
Method and Participants
We opted for unmoderated user testing sessions using usertesting.com, targeting participants aged between 25 to 50 years old.
